John Scofield Talks Modes

In this video a young John Scofield talks about improvisation and the modes.  Nothing new here, but nice to watch nonetheless.

Improvisation = Speeded Up Composition

Although the video quality is bad, you can’t help notice how good his sound is.

I have just learned the practical importance of intervals and how to use them to spice up scales.

I always wondered what the secret could be.

Thanks a million!

John,that was an awesome lesson on how to experiment with intervals over the seven of modes of a major
scale.(ie. 3rds,5ths,4ths,etc..) Can't wait to try this interval concept out.

Thanks a trillion...

I love John Scofield so naturally I love hearing him talk about modes. This is now my favorite video that involves learning the guitar.
